Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer & Cyclical, Food & Beverages and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.75%, while the MDAX index gained 1.04%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 3.78% or 0.67 points to trade at 18.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) added 3.67% or 0.38 points to end at 10.88 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was up 3.62% or 0.90 points to 25.79 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG), which fell 0.93% or 1.00 points to trade at 106.48 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) declined 0.90% or 1.45 points to end at 159.85 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) was down 0.73% or 0.85 points to 115.75.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 4.61% to 21.33, Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was up 3.94% to settle at 54.40 and LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which gained 3.91% to close at 54.74.
The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 2.37% to 107.10 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 2.11% to settle at 28.29 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 2.05% to 29.68 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 4.61% to 21.33, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 3.27% to settle at 101.00 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 2.48% to close at 11.77.
The worst performers were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was down 3.43% to 9.24 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which lost 2.67% to settle at 25.50 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 2.34% to 66.65 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 397 to 252 and 95 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.77% to 16.66.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.31% or 6.00 to $1,937.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.48% or 1.81 to hit $74.80 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.15% or 1.67 to trade at $79.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 101.39.
